As a creative who studied abroad, I can't help but feel frustrated by the state of creative (fashion) education here in Estonia. 🤦♀️ 🤨
It seems the focus is purely on artistic expression, neglecting the aspects of selling, marketing, and building a sustainable business around those talents.
Recently, I've spoken with fashion students who graduate with incredible talent but lack the tools to actually sell their work. I've even witnessed students' pain at the lack of job opportunities due to this gap in essential skills.
Look, I understand some creatives just want to focus on their art, but let's be honest – do you want to be financially challenged for life? The "art for art's sake" mentality often leads to not a thriving career.
We live in a capitalist world, and mastering how to monetise your talent while making a positive impact is crucial.
❗ That's why I founded WeYoung Events, a marketing agency and mentoring program. My mission? To empower the next generation of fashion creatives (globally!) to showcase their work with confidence, build strong brands, and thrive in the industry.
Some countless talented designers and artists give up because the education system fails to equip them with the business acumen they need.
If you're struggling to build your brand, reach out! Let's work together and turn your creative passion into a successful career.
P.S. Choosing Fashion Marketing & Branding at NTU was the best decision ever – a huge thank you to the universe for guiding me towards my dream! And to the next generation - stay tuned, because I'm heading to Milan for my MA next year, to build a brighter future for creative graduates! 🇮🇹 👩🎓
